There is a little tone difference when switching from V4 to V8 when accelerating, but that's it. A good, deep tone when driving and accelerating, but nothing loud in the cab or drone. The sound from the 6.2 with the 22" magnaflow and no resonator is great imo. I should have run a 3.5-3" Y after the muffler and ran duals, but I was going for a sleeper/factory look to begin with. The guy cut it up to fit, and got it as close to the factory look I wanted (from 6.0 equipped trucks), but without a bender it isn't exactly where I wanted it. I really didn't want a big 4" pipe hanging underneath a half ton truck, but I didn't have much of a choice. I called a few shops and the only solution I found was a universal 4" tailpipe kit from a 2500HD truck. However, I did not realize that no one in the state of Arkansas can bend 3.5" pipe, so I had to find a way around it. I ordered a 22" 3.5" in/out Magnaflow off Amazon, then called around for someone to install it. Sounds like what a big 6.2 should sound likeĪlso got exhaust installed. However, I think it was worth it, and you get used to the sound quickly. Man does this 6.2 suck some air, you can really hear the intake and the deep throaty sound of the motor revving up going down the road and when you really get into the skinny pedal. Yes, I know there is a thread with all sorts of leveling kit combo's on 2014's+ on this forum, but I am not reading through 170 pages of truck pictures all at once. I will not go through that again with this truck, just want something simple and reliable that I can instal and forget about that lies somewhere between a basic leveling kit and a full blow lift kit. A long time ago, I tried to beef up the IFS on my 2000 Sierra with all the Cognito goodies in order to make it survive off road, daily driving, and big tires, which ended up in a solid axle conversion. This will be my daily driver and only form of transportation for the next 5+ years, just like my Duramax has been. However, the truck must sit level or up to. But I will running the factory all terrain 20's and do not plan on running aftermarket wheels at all in the future and I will not trim any kind of metal. I really like the look of the 3.5" kits with a 1" block in the back with 33's, and I have seen some with 34's and 35's. This is the main reason I am going back to a half ton pickup, and that 12.5 mpg in a diesel isn't worth it. Its only set at 5.5" in the front and 3" in the back to get a leveled look and a better ride, but it is still rough. That's the only reason I threw on the 6.5 BDS with Fox Shocks. I had torsion keys cranked to level with 35's on stock 20's on my Duramax for about 3.5 years, and it beat me to death. I would probably just go with a 2.5" level before a 4" full system. I see lots of people running 4" kits, but I am really trying to avoid that if I can. Now I know BJ's, TRE's, and CV's wont like these half-ass lifts with only a small diff lowering spacer and new UCA's, but how bad is it really on suspension and drive train parts? How bad is the ride? Obviously, I like the RC because I can get the new upper control arms complete with MOOG BJ's in their kit for the price of RL's base kit. However, I can't stand the factory stance of any truck, so I plan to have the dealer throw a leveling/small lift on it and new rubber before I drive it off the lot.Īfter quite a bit of research, I have come across a few options that I am interested in, including the 3.5" rough country and 4" Ready Lift. I plan on trading my Duramax in at the end of the summer in exchange for a new Iridium Metallic Sierra All-Terrain 1500 with the 6.2 in it.
